The Story

Finally here, after a long “pregnancy” and a difficult “birth”

On 14/04/2023, I finally received the happy news!

“My consulting motorhome has seen the light of day outside the production hall!”

After a long wait and an endless 9 months (is that number a coincidence, or are there not even any?), the result of my purchase efforts is finally sitting in the dealer’s yard.

It is actually hard to believe. After dates in August (as it was once listed online in the offer), October, November, December, January, February, and then April, it will finally soon be ready for collection. (The delay to May is now down to me, though.)

Since the initial order, I have changed the specification (almost up to the very last minute) at least four times. After all, I had plenty of time and could watch more and more YouTube videos. That keeps giving you new ideas and even more “optimization potential”.

By now, that is reflected in a list of around 20 items. Not to mention the potential costs.

Boy? Girl? No: motorhome!

So what’s next?

Now it really begins. Anyone who knows me knows that I have been making my checklists and plans for a long time.

  • Conversions and installations at the dealer (not everything is available from the factory)
  • Collection on 19/05/2023
  • Further modifications and putting away all the things I have bought and everything you might need at short notice (the list is really long)
  • “Housewarming party” (surely also with a “christening” right away. The baby needs a name, too.)
  • At the end of May, take off on a first round trip and then head to the campsite in the Palatinate

Already planned: The first motorhome meet-up with a customer who also has a motorhome and uses it to visit their own customers. At a campsite—nice and relaxed—with plenty of work, but also plenty of fun. Exactly how I imagine my New Life with New Work.

So look forward to more posts and the first interviews with customers, partners, and others under the motto: “on the couch with the digitalization consultant”. Directly from the new consulting motorhome.

I am looking forward to that as well!

The first trips to my customers and the first overnight stay on their company premises. Maybe I will even be “locked in”, because that happens more often on such sites. No matter. Then I will enjoy it all off-grid in my “luxury cell”.

It is a pity that I do not have a customer by the sea yet. Perhaps that can be changed at some point.
